There was a time,
I received a letter
From a concerned poet.
And the content were as follows:
‘Dear writer,
Use your lines usefully,
For reproof, correction
And instruction in justice.
Not to waste on ‘any girl.’
But I assumed
That she wasn’t just ‘any girl.’
She was a jewel.
Before I realized she wasn’t.
I had wasted time writing
Her lines from my heart.
Now I’m desolate.
Mind taking me back
In time and take
The lines I wasted?
